The NEOPOP Festival, held in Viana do Castelo, is the largest and longest-running electronic music festival in Portugal and a European reference in the techno scene, combining music, digital art, and technology. In its 19th edition, the event welcomed tens of thousands of international visitors, requiring a highly reliable technological infrastructure to support all critical operations over several days in a temporary and demanding environment.
Challenge
Ensuring stable, secure, and high-performance connectivity for ticketing, payments, access control, technical production, and internal communications was the main challenge. The goal was to replicate the robustness of a permanent network within an infrastructure assembled in just a few days, exposed to adverse environmental conditions and intensive usage.
The Solution
The network was designed and implemented with a segmented and scalable architecture, based on single-mode OS2 fiber optics and Cat.6 / Cat.6A copper, ensuring high bandwidth, low latency, and absolute priority for critical services.
The core of the infrastructure integrated barpa Pyxis range racks, providing organization, protection, and efficient technical access. The entire solution fully complied with international structured cabling standards, ensuring reliability and consistent performance throughout the event.

Partner
XBIN, responsible for the technical implementation, relied exclusively on barpa for the supply of all passive infrastructure components — including racks, patch panels, copper, and fiber optic cabling.
This partnership ensured technical consistency, fast deployment, and total operational confidence, proving that a well-designed temporary infrastructure can achieve reliability levels equivalent to permanent installations.
